Bio

Vivian Bennett was born Vivian Kirk in Edmonton , Alberta, 1949. After taking commercial art in High School, under the instruction of Art Evoy and June Morrison and a summer class with Harry Wholfarth, Vivian went on to the U. Of Alberta to take part in life drawing courses while getting her Education Degree. After teaching for one year Vivian began a visual display career with the Hudson Bay Company in Calgary, Alberta. This career proved to be the grounding Vivan needed in her art and is the basis of the spaces and shapes in her paintings today. Vivian continues to take classes in painting , specifically under the instruction offered by the Red Deer College Series Program. Her work can be found in many private homes and businesses in Canada. Vivian lives in Buffalo Lake, Alberta with her husband Ed.

A New Art Gallery For Viv !!

Hi All, I want to use this space to announce that I have just joined The LOCALS ART GALLERY in Banff!

Should you decide to check it out it's in the Pension Tannenhoff Inn at 121 Cave Avenue, Banff, Alberta. On the way to the BAnff Springs Hotel, when you cross the little bridge, make the first right onto Cave Avenue and follow the signs.

And if you decide to stay in Banff, check out the website below and stay at the Inn, it's a lovely atmosphere and very well put together. Ed and I highly reccomend it.
